With 8 million tons of plastics that get into the oceans, globally 1 million seabirds and 100,000 marine animals die from this pollution every year. 

Smooth-coated otters are considered critically endangered in Singapore although numbers have successfully increased over the years. Trash thrown into the waterways such as plastic bags and bottles, fishing lines and hooks, wrappers and styrofoam pose a hazard to the otters as they mistake them for food. Most populations of the 13 surviving otter species are in decline and are at risk of extinction worldwide.

Plastic on the front of the card was hand-picked on the beaches of Singapore.
